Owning A Radio Controlled Helicopter, Plane or QuadCopter
All the products on our website are of the highest quality and are designed to fly properly which means they are strong enough to fly and withstand any normal flight-loads but can BREAK if they are crashed or suffer any bad landings. Sometimes even a seemingly soft landing can damage parts of the unit.
A crash can damage motors, mainboards, servos or ANY part of the helicopter, This could even be on its first flight from new. These will not be covered by warranty in this event.
No warranty claims can be made on physically damaged parts caused by crashing. We do however stock a full range of spares for our models so please get in touch should anything go wrong and it can be fixed.
There are many models of radio controlled helicopters and radio controlled planes on the market and choosing the right one is essential if you are to get the most out of flying. For beginners, we recommend an RTF (Ready To Fly) helicopter or plane.
RTF means "Ready To Fly" (comes with transmitter / controller)
BNF means "Bind-N-Fly" (comes without transmitter / controller).
Our models use Spektrum technology which means many transmitters can be used on other models.
For example, if you were to purchase a Blade mCX2 RTF, you could buy a Blade mSR BNF and use the mCX2 transmitter for the mSR meaning you don't need to buy another transmitter. Just look for either the BNF or RTF at the end of a product title to determine which kit it is.

Getting Into RC Helicopters...
We recommend either a Blade mCX2, Hubsan EC145 Co-Axial, or a Mini Vortex for a small indoor only experience or Blade 120 SR for a larger indoor / outdoor use (very light winds). If you have experience in some of the smaller helicopters already, we recommend a Blade 120 SR or Blade mSRX which are a step up but a step up that needs to be taken to progress.
Getting Into RC Planes...
The Top Gun range is a good place to start and we also recommend either a HobbyZone Champ or a Super Cub RTF to get you started. A HobbyZone Champ is a small plane that can only be flown outside in very, very calm conditions but is great for sports hall flying. The Super Cub RTF is a larger plane capable of flying in light winds. Both models are as easy to fly as each other.
Getting Into RC Quadcopters
The Hubsan X4 is by far the best beginner QuadCopter. It's small enough to be flown inside and powerful enough to be able to fly outside on a calm day. Once this quadcopter has been mastered, you can switch it into expert mode and unleash the beast within making this model suitable for beginners and experts. If you are looking for something a little more sizeable - the Blade mQX is for you!
